The Zebra ZT410 is a heavy duty industrial printer, but at it’s core it has a motherboard with a USB Type A Port which is prone to damage with frequent plugging and unplugging with its usb cable. In this case we needed to use a hot air station to de-solder and remove the existing broken port. After the port is removed we need to extract the solder in the holes connecting the pins. This is done with a solder sucker and a hot air station. Once the vias in the circuit board are cleaned out we can then install the new port and add some high quality leaded solder to the pads/pins to resolder the new port into place.
